Scholarships are great resources for external aid. Keep in mind...
Scholarships can be work! Make sure you stay organized with what each require and deadlines.
Don't discount small amount scholarships, any money is good!
Have a resume prepared to attach to an application.
Use your prewritten explanations of activities and or work experience from your resume or SCOIR to add to scholarships and applications.
You shouldn't have to pay to apply to scholarships or websites.
For undocumented students specifically, there are many resource guides available to guide you in the direction of scholarships that do not take status into consideration (or do not require U.S. Citizenship).
Undocumented Students are also eligible to complete the Senator Jose Peralta New York State DREAM Act as a part of New York State aid only for SUNY and CUNY schools. For more information the link is HERE.
Individual Scholarship Opportunities
DEADLINE: March 16 ,2026
The Brandon Hendricks Scholarship is a $20,000 scholarship award for high school seniors from The Bronx that have recently been admitted into college. With these scholarships, the Oyate Group hopes to alleviate some of the financial stress and economic burdens that many students face during their college years. We believe that this investment and interest during this critical time in a students academic journey will help our youth to focus on their education and value their college experience.
Eligibility Criteria: HS Senior/ graduating in 2026, reside in the Bronx, college acceptance to a four year undergraduate program, complete application, in-person interview, write a one paragraph exaplaining youre greatest accomplishment.

The Seattle Foundation and the Black at Microsoft Inclusion Network have established a scholarship program to assist current high school seniors who plan to continue their education in 4-year college or university pursuing a STEM or Business-related field of study.
Up to 55 students will be chosen to recieve awards ranging from $2,500 to $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants to the Black at Microsoft Scholarship Program must:
Be a high school senior
Plan to attend a four-year college or university in the US in the fall immediately following your high school graduation
Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or one of the following Business programs – Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing at an accredited four-year college, university, in the United States, for the entire upcoming academic year
Demonstrate a passion for technology
Demonstrate leadership at school or in the community
Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent
International students are eligible to apply if enrolling in a US college or university.
Employees and children of employees of Microsoft are ineligible.

The New York Urban League Whitney M. Young, Jr (WMY) Schoalrship is named after the visionary civil rights leader Whitney M. Young, Jr. This scholarship is offering awards ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. We are looking for the next generation of NYC leaders who are dedicated to academic excellence and community service.
Eligibility Criteria: HS senior/Recent graduate ( not enrolled in college ), NYC Residents, applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to community service and academic resilience

This year marks the 39th year of the BP Community Scholarship Program serving the New York and northern New Jersey area. Since its inception, the program has awarded nearly $4 million and nearly 2,300 scholarships benefiting promising students. BP is looking to give back to the communities by encouraging local high school seniors to pursue their dreams of going to college.
Eligibility Criteria: Residing in NYC, Long island, West Chester county or northern New Jersey, entering a 2 or 4 year college full time, has financial need, and a 500-750 word personal statement.
DEADLINE: April 27,2026
Graduating high school students may apply for the annual Yankees-Stonewall Scholarship Initiative, a partnership between the NYC Department of Education (NYCDOE), the New York Yankees, and the Stonewall Inn. Now in its fifth year, this one-time scholarship of $10,000 is awarded to a student from each borough to celebrate the achievements of New York City public school graduating seniors who have demonstrated academic achievement and impactful support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Application will ask students for the following components:
Teacher recommendation letter
Answer short answer question
One 500 word essay prompt
Eligibility Criteria: HS Senior, at least a 2.5 GPA, intending on attending a two-year or four-year college, a member of the LGTBQ+ community or made significant contributions to the LGBTQ+ community.

The National Center for Learning Disabilities celebrate the work and achievements of students and leaders working to create more equitable futures for those with learning disabilities and attention issues. The Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship awarded over two years ($2,500 each year) to a graduating high school senior who will enroll in a two-year community college, a vocational or technical training program, or a specialized program for students with disabilities in the fall.
Eligibility Criteria: Student must have a documented learning disability (LD) and be a graduating high school senior planning to enroll in the Fall of 2024.

The Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) seeks to improve the treatment of animals everywhere—in the laboratory, on the farm, in commerce, at home, and in the wild. Over the seven decades that AWI has been advocating for animals, much progress has been made. Yet we are hoping to build on our accomplishments by ensuring that future generations continue to improve the lives of animals through the Animal Welfare Institute Scholarship fund. We want to invest in future leaders working to improve animal welfare. Learn more about the goals of the scholarship and how to apply below. Up to 12 applicants will be chosen to receive scholarships, worth $3,000 each.
Eligibility Criteria: Commitment to animal welfare, intend to purse a career that will seek to reduce animal suffering and protect vulnerable species, two letters of recommendation, US Citizen

The 2026 UPLIFT schoalrship was established by the Lifting While We Climb Charitable trust to support and empower students of Black/African descent pursuing higher educated. This schoalrship fund aims to foster academic excellence, leadership, and personal growth.
This year, we will be awarding multiple scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.
