"Congratulations to our talented student visual artists and performers for the exemplary work they have accomplished during such a challenging year. I would also like to extend my gratitude to their talented teachers, families, and committed school leaders for their continued support of rigorous arts programming in their schools.

I applaud the artistic accomplishments of all our students across the city and look forward to making a continuous, rigorous, inclusive arts education a reality for all New York City public school students."

"Art is the soul of a people."

Romare Bearden

Our beautiful city has been changed in immeasurable ways this year. We have been moved deeply by our essential workers, medical professionals, and the massive protests advocating for equity and racial justice. We are especially inspired by the artwork of our students. We recognize their teachers, principals, and school communities, who helped make this wonderful celebration of student art possible. To our young artists, your art is not only a beautiful expression of your ideas, but it can also be a part of a movement to heal people and create a better world.

Each year, students, families, teachers, and school leaders come together at Queens Museum to celebrate our young artists. While we cannot be at the museum this year, we are honored to showcase the talent and creativity of our students.

It is with great pride and gratitude that we present this virtual exhibition of the 2021 Queens Borough Arts Festival.

We are grateful to Chancellor Meisha Porter, the Office of Arts and Special Projects, Queens Museum, and our teachers, school leaders, and families for their unwavering support of arts education.

Congratulations to all our student artists! Keep Making Art!
