I try to include things that are happening in the present world. In my painting, I showed medical-based items because covid-19 is the #1 event going on in the world and I want to honor medical workers for working during this horrible virus to take care of the sick.

What inspires me as an artist is going to art museums, on summer vacations, or even looking at old artifacts. Most importantly, my thoughts reflect on my artwork. I think a lot and sometimes murmur to myself, especially throughout these days in which I don't really communicate with my friends.

What I’m trying to communicate in my artwork is to express the environment itself which is the ocean as the blue whale symbolizes the ocean. I chose a blue whale because of its shy and timid nature as it expresses how many people might feel including me.

Something that inspires me as an artist is my family and memories that I have with my family. I treasure every moment I have with my family. My fashionable sister gives me ideas and helps me think about ideas and lets me use her art stuff for my homework.

I feel successful because I created a moving image using the “rules of animation” we learned in class. I enjoyed coloring all of the frames, seeing the finished product, and how it flowed so nicely.

Most of my inspiration as an artist comes from past artist techniques themselves. In the line portion of drawing, I took inspiration from Van Gough's starry night. I based the colorful swirls and patterns off of these seen in the sky of his painting.
