BRT Leader's Role
The BRT Leader is responsible for providing direction, leadership, and guidance to BRT members during an emergency. He or she acts as the communications liaison between the BRT and the Principal/Incident Commander (IC) during an emergency and must be ready and available to participate in BRT response actions as necessary.

Emergency Officer’s (2) (EM)
Under the BRT Leader's guidance, the EM Officer will relay information between BRT members, the BRT Leader, and the IC during an emergency. Depending on the emergency, the BRT Leader may designate more than one BRT member to act as EM Officers.

Incident Assessors (IA)
The primary role of the IA is to monitor the emergency and communicate any changes in the nature or severity of the incident. If available, nurses or custodial engineers may serve as IA, and use their expertise to provide pertinent information to the BRT Leader. In the absence of a Recorder on scene, an IA's secondary role is to collect all essential elements of information from the scene and relay the information to the BRT Leader.

Assembly Point Coordinator (APC) / Floor Wardens
The role of the APC is to help coordinate and streamline communications during an evacuation or relocation. The APC is located at the Command Post during an evacuation or relocation, and floor wardens and evacuation post staff report to the APC to provide status updates, which the APC then relays to the BRT Leader, IC, and SSA. The APC also communicates with the Special Needs Coordinator (SNC) to verify that status updates pertaining to individuals with special needs are provided to the BRT Leader.

Special Needs Coordinator (SNC)
The SNC is the primary point of contact when issues with special needs students and staff arise during an emergency. The SNC will track all special needs students and staff during emergencies, collect information on missing individuals, and ensure that all special needs students and staff have what they need during incidents that involve an evacuation, relocation, lock-down, or shelter-in. The SNC is assisted by and communicates with the LMS Staff Designee and LYFE Center staff to ensure that all LMS students and staff and LYFE Center participants are accounted for during an emergency. The SNC relays information regarding missing students to the APC who is located at the Command Post.

Recorder
The recorder is responsible for collecting detailed information from the beginning to the end (recovery phase) of an incident.
