Welcome to History!
This year, we will explore the fascinating stories, people, and events that have shaped our world and continue to influence our lives today. From geography and government to history and culture, students will engage in interactive lessons, critical thinking activities, and meaningful discussions that help make connections between the past and present. Together, we’ll build a classroom community that values curiosity, respect, and a passion for learning.

About me
My name is Mrs. Russom, and I’m so excited to be teaching Social Studies this year! I have a true passion for bringing history to life while creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment in my classroom. I believe in helping students connect what they learn to the world around them so they see the value and relevance in every lesson. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and spending time with my family.
Classroom Expectations
In our classroom, we follow four core expectations to create a safe, productive, and positive learning environment:
Be Respectful – Treat yourself, your classmates, your teacher, and our learning space with kindness and consideration.
Be Responsible – Take ownership of your learning, actions, and choices. Follow classroom rules, complete assignments on time, and use materials appropriately.
Be Prepared – Come to class ready to learn with the necessary materials, a positive attitude, and your assignments completed.
Be Engaged – Actively participate in lessons, discussions, and activities. Stay focused, ask questions, and contribute your best effort every day.
