This site is a demonstration version of a portfolio guide I created for students in the UMGC Learning Design and Technology (LDTC) program. The original site includes examples of student portfolios shared with permission; however, student information has been removed in this version.

I developed this guide after noticing that many students, particularly those new to web design, felt overwhelmed when first creating their program portfolios. While early courses provided some initial guidance, students often lacked examples and clear direction on how to structure their sites so they could easily add work throughout the program.

After teaching one of the final courses in the program and receiving detailed feedback from a student about the need for additional examples and guidance, I created this guide to provide clear structure, examples, FAQs, and practical tips to help students start their portfolios with confidence. The guide is designed to support students in the first course of the program (LDTC 600, often taken alongside LDTC 605), where many questions arise as students begin building their portfolios.
