*** Please note that some of the information on the student work has been adjusted to keep the student's anonymity.
During on of the iterations of our class, we had all students make an individual book each. Below you can see examples of their projects.
We found that students liked the pacing/work amount of just making one PDF vs. a whole book. We have been having them turn their interview content into a one-pager about their SDG Hero. Then, as a class, we can make one book together. Below you can see examples of individual PDFs.
Project Intro: We might not always be conscious of it, but there are heroes acting for social change and a more sustainable future all around us! With the "SDG Heroes Project," Springside Chestnut Hill's 6th graders shine light on the actions of individuals and groups working to enact the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in and beyond Philadelphia.

At the end of the trimester, each student gets to complete an SDG Personal Project - in which they explore one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in more depth. The students are given options of projects they can do (ex. create a song, do a household audit, create a board game, etc.). Students are also able to create their own project idea. For example, we have had students lead class discussions, or even write opinion pieces (backed with research) on an SDG they care about.
Please see below a few examples of the many projects that have come from our class!
