New to CCI ?
Welcome all grade nine students and anyone else new to CCI!!!
Don't hesitate to come and see us in the library if you have any questions about the library or anything here at CCI for that matter! If we don't have the answer, we will try and find it for you.
Hours: The library is open most days before school until at least 3 pm (or later). We will put a note on the library doors if we have to close earlier for any reason, such as staff meetings, etc.
For student use: We have desktop computers, a black & white printer/photocopier, a colour printer/photocopier, tables and comfy chairs for group and individual work, meeting rooms you can book...and, of course, lots of books to read and sign out!
The teacher-librarians are here to help you...
find print books, eBooks or audiobooks (for personal reading or research tasks)
find other research sources, such as articles in our database collections or encyclopedias
with documenting your sources (using APA, MLA etc. correctly)
find a really good book to read (for an independent novel study or just for personal reading)
use the printer / photocopier
with password or login questions for your school account and/or any of our online resources
answer any CCI related question...if we don't know the answer, we probably know who does!!
Personal Devices: Info for connecting your personal device to the school's Wi-Fi system can be found below. Instructions vary depending on your device.
Student account help
Any time you need help with your school account (login, password, etc.) come and see us in person in the library or email us. We can look up your info and/or give you a new password to get back into your account. See the About Us page for our contact info.
If you know your password, but just want to change it, you can do that on any desktop computer in the library OR through your school email (instructions can be found here).
Multifactor Authentication for your school account
If you are going to be outside of the country OR if you regularly use a VPN, you must set up multifactor authentication on your school account. This additional security measure is required by the board (as of Sept 2022) for accessing any school site (school email, D2L, etc.) while not in Canada or while using a VPN. You must do the actual set-up of this while here at school.
