Project LIT is proud to present the novel selections for 2023/2024!
These novels were voted on multiple times throughout the year by all of the Project LIT chapters in the country. Which ones do you want to read first? Which ones do we need in the library?
What is Project LIT?
The Branciforte Middle School Library is a proud chapter of the Project LIT Community.
Project LIT is a national LITeracy movement that is committed to increasing access to culturally relevant books and promoting a love of reading in our schools and communities.
Branciforte Middle School chapter leader: Jessica Brooks
We work together to:
Empower students as READERS and LEADERS in their school and community.
Host bi-yearly Project LIT Book Clubs.
Flood our schools and communities with high-quality, culturally relevant books.
Champion and celebrate reading daily.
Inspire and support one anotherthrough sharing of lesson plans, resources, strategies, and book recommendations.
Create opportunities for students to connect with peers around the country.
Advocate for policies and practices that will help our students become lifelong learners.
Project LIT student members will play an active role in
- fundraising for books.
- advertising the program.
- leading group discussions.
- planning, organizing, and facilitating a community discussion of the book at an evening event open to students, parents, and community members.
