SEL stands for Social and Emotional Learning. According to CASEL, social and emotional learning (SEL) is an integral part of education and human development. It refers to the process through which individuals, especially students, learn to recognize and manage their emotions, develop empathy for others, establish positive relationships, make responsible decisions, and handle challenging situations effectively. It supports and promotes positive mental health and has been proven to reduce anxiety, addiction, and behavioural issues while increasing student performance as well as physical and emotional well-being.
