Transitioning from middle school to high school can be both exciting and overwhelming. High school introduces new social dynamics, with a broader range of classmates, extracurricular activities, and more responsibility for academic performance. Adjusting to the increased workload and higher expectations can be challenging, but it also provides an opportunity for personal growth and independence. At SCELA, the school counseling team is dedicated to supporting students to ensure a smooth transition to high school.
This presentation will provide an abundance of information regarding high school including graduation requirements, course offerings and advanced programs. We highly encourage rising 9th grade students and families to review this presentation as they prepare for 9th grade pre-registration.
There are various terms used in high school that may be new for middle school students. It is important to know each of these terms as you prepare and progress towards high school
