Claiming Deadlines
SCDE Claiming Expectations - Titles I, II, & IV
✨ Spend it now. Impact kids today.
Grant funds are meant to meet student needs right away—every dollar makes a difference this year!
✨ Year 1 = Student First.
Funds support the school’s Comprehensive Needs Assessment so students get help when they need it most—now.
✨No delays. No waiting.
Using funds in Year 1 means students benefit immediately from extra support, resources, and opportunities.
South Carolina Department of Education Claiming Expectations
✨To meet SCDE’s claiming expectations and meet district deadlines, schools must spend and claim at least 85% of Title I and IV allocations and 50% of Title II allocations by June 30 of Year 1. More importantly, these funds are meant to directly support the activities outlined in each school’s Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA). Since the goal is to meet student needs as quickly and effectively as possible, the best practice is to use all available funds in Year 1 so that students benefit right away. ✨
