$75 per credit for teachers and community members
$45 per credit for non-teaching staff, retired teachers, and senior citizens who are auditing.
STI courses are typically worth 1, 2, or 3 credits.
Some courses also require additional fees for materials or admissions to facilities. These fees must be paid separately to the instructor or to the STI.
Any courses in this catalog labeled “non-credit” are those for which the Institute will not request the Boards of Education or state for support. These courses will be supported solely by tuition fees.
Courses must have a minimum number of 8 *PAID* participants registered 3 days prior to the start of the course.
The STI reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment. Notification of course cancellations will be made by email or by phone.
In the event your course is canceled, you may register for any other available course or request a refund by calling Fran in the STI office at 914-721-2850.
Please note that course times, dates, and locations are subject to change. Please check your email for updates.
If you choose to drop a course, you must give at least three days notice prior to the start of a course to request a refund or a credit toward another STI class. Within three days of a course start date or after a course begins, participants will not be eligible for a refund.
A teacher will be responsible for completing the course requirements within ninety days of the last meeting of the course.
Course projects should be submitted in digital form using the STI Project Database.
When coordinators take attendance, a project is received and approved, tuition is paid, and the course evaluation is completed, the STI office will then request payment in the form of credit or stipend through district administrative offices.
Participants will receive either credit or the stipend equivalent for completing a course when the:
coordinator confirms attendance
project is received by coordinator and STI Office, and approved
tuition is paid in full
course evaluation is completed
Only then will course completion information will be forwarded to district administrative offices to process payment.
