Everyone deserves to belong, no matter how they express themself. It's wrong that people get harassed for being themselves and get pressured to change to fit in. This piece of artwork represents diversity and belonging by showing that I can be who I want to be, not who I am told to be. The Yin and Yang represent that there are two sides to every story and the numerous animals included represent how every person is unique and different. It's inspired by many other mask makers out there who feel as if they can express themselves.

Throughout my childhood, I have spent countless hours in the woods with family and friends. We have created many games and enjoyed building structures. We have seen many animals including different kinds of birds, deer, foxes, squirrels, and snakes. We enjoyed most when the scenery was filled with the luxuriant colors of autumn.
My 3D piece reflects these memories, especially because of the colors of autumn. The birds and other creatures give the piece a feeling of movement and joy. The mushrooms are almost like little creatures, too. I like the contrast between the dark blue sky and the bright vibrant autumn colors.

My art piece is a puzzle piece that represents me and how I fit into the world. I made it to show that everyone has their own shape and design, but we all connect to make something bigger. The colors, drawings, and words on my piece show my personality and the things that make me who I am.
