Podcasts at Heathcote during the 2022-2023 school year. ..

2022-2023 marks a revisit of ideas and explorations from the pre-COVID era. In 2018-2019 we explored the idea of student-driven, and student created, podcasting, something we had never done before, a few teachers got together to give it a try. The 2018-2019 school year was one of experimentation in terms of process, scheduling, topic choice, script writing, production, and so forth. As a team we are documenting our process and experience to better use the genre of podcasting to connect student writing and technology use with authentic authentic student voice and true publishing.

We were aiming to continue the process on the Spring of the 2019-2020 school year, but then COVID happened. And for the next two years COVID restrictions steared our instructional efforts elsewhere. We have returned to podcasting for 2022-2023 to get the ball rolling again in an attempt to once again start a process of yearly podcast work

These classes are exploring podcasting with Mr. Casal and the students are thoroughly integrating technology as well as analog learning throughout the entire process.
