Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to an exciting new school year! Second grade is such a special time filled with growth, curiosity, and discovery. Mrs. Pierro, a recently retired second grade teacher from our very own Scarsdale School District, will be your leave replacement during my maternity leave for the fall semester. With her experience and expertise, the class will be in wonderful hands.

Before the school year begins, I wanted to share a little about my summer! I had a wonderful time traveling to Martha's Vineyard with my husband and our dog relaxing on the beach, and making memories in our first home together. It was the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. Summer is always such a special time to create memories with family and friends!

This classroom will be a place where every student feels welcomed, valued, and encouraged. Together, we will build a kind and supportive community where everyone feels comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating one another's successes. Your days will be filled with engaging books, creative writing, hands-on math activities, exciting science investigations, and meaningful social studies projects. There will be plenty of opportunities to collaborate, explore, and discover new interests! 

A strong partnership between home and school is one of the most important ingredients for a successful year. Mrs. Pierro and I look forward to working with you, celebrating your student's accomplishments, and supporting them every step of the way.
