DIRECTIONS FOR GETTING STARTED:

• Log in to Google Classroom.
• Open the assignment Close Reading Response to The Outsiders.
• Open the attachment in Google Docs. If you are on an iPad, click the square / arrow icon to open the assignment in Docs.
• Follow the direction on the Doc to write your responses. Use the cognitive strategies bookmark and / or the cognitive strategy booklet to craft your responses.

HINT: When you open the Close Reading Response, scroll to the end to see a student example and a list of transitional words and phrases.
