Attitudes In Reverse® or AIR™ offers a comprehensive mental health plan to educate youth, from elementary level through college-age. AIR's programs are wrapped in messages of understanding, empathy and kindness towards all. At AIR, we believe that good mental health programming makes the best anti-bullying and suicide prevention plans. Breaking down stigma allows AIR to help identify youth who are at risk. Programs are also available for parents, teachers and all school staff. Certified AIR Dogs, therapy dogs, accompany all program presenters.

Our mission is to deliver high quality mental health services to everyone while demonstrating a high level of respect and a deep level of commitment to our clients. We specialize in caring for the whole client, not just their symptoms. Each person we work with is unique, and possesses their own qualities and strengths which are drawn upon during our work together. All of our services are tailored to meet each individuals’ needs, because while symptoms may be the same, people are not. Our therapists, counselors, and coaches bring a wide variety of experience to our practice and therefore are able to address issues in many different areas.

The BRIDGE Center

The BRIDGE Center is a dynamic partnership between South Brunswick School District and Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare (UBHC), a division of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. The primary objective of the program is to help assure that pre-teens and teenagers have readily available access to quality counseling and other support services.

The BRIDGE Center provides a range of free, confidential recreational and mental health services at South Brunswick High School and Crossroads Middle Schools to all middle and high school students. Services include individual, group, and family counseling, conflict resolution, parent support groups and recreational programming. Referrals to the center can be made by students, parents or school staff. Parental permission is required for participation.

Poonam Patel is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey. She has worked with sexual abuse and domestic violence clients as well as adolescents with behavioral, intellectual, and developmental challenges. She has also worked in outpatient settings with individuals, families and couples.

In 2019, she founded Phoenix Wellness Center where individuals and families can get exceptional counseling services to improve personal wellness and successfully balance the many facets of their lives.

Princeton HiTops has support groups for students that are members of the LGBTQ+ community.

GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) has information regarding inclusive schools and the New Jersey State legislation regarding the inclusion of members of the LGBTQ+ community in the mandated state curriculum.

SBHS PRISM Alliance

The SBHS gender and sexuality alliance. We provide LGBTQ+ identified individuals and their allies with a safe place to discuss the issues facing them on a daily basis. It is also very important that we maintain the confidentiality of those students that identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community, but have not yet come out to their friends and/or family by the motto of "What happens in PRISM, stays in PRISM." We will hold regular meetings throughout the school year and will invite special guests to join us whenever possible. All individuals with open minds and warm hearts are welcome!
