Evidence: Resumé
From my resumé you will see that I have spent time working professionally with regards to this knowledge standard. For four years, in addition to teaching a full load of math classes, I worked as Rock Point School's sole network administrator/"tech guru." In college I worked as an IT technician, and have also done some freelance work for various companies around Burlington. A recent tech troubleshooting win was fixing a SMTP problem on my brother's father-in-law's computer. He is from Peru and his computer was set up in Spanish, and it was a PC (I'm a mac) and he used Outlook (I'm with Google for email).
As I said on my home page, I love finding solutions to problems and making things run efficiently.
Evidence: Implementation of PowerSchool
In the fall of 2018 our school decided to switch our student management system from Infinite Campus to PowerSchool. In anticipating a rough transition mid year, I was granted access to the program to investigate the differences between our previous system and the new one. After having compiled a list of some potential problems in navigating PowerSchool, I met with administrators to discuss what I had found. For example, things like parent emails hadn't transferred over, course enrollment was not current and did not reflect changes that had happened since the start of school, and other various inconsistencies. The deployment of the program was held off for a few weeks.
When teachers were asked to use the system, our first task was to enter in quarter grades. I worked with our ITE coach to create a how-to video for the staff to follow.
