Hello, 2026-2027 Bearcats!

I’m Ms. Sanchez, one of the instructors for the SHS Health Science Career Academy. I’m proud to say I was born and raised right here in Scottsbluff and am a proud graduate of SHS!

My journey in healthcare began at WNCC, where I earned my Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree. I continued my education through Excelsior College to receive my Associate Registered Nurse (RN) degree, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. Most recently, I completed a Master of Nursing Education and a Master of Health Leadership.

I’ve worked in the nursing field for 28 years, including 22 years at Regional West Medical Center in a variety of roles. I also hold a State of Nebraska Career Education Teaching Permit, and this is my 7th year teaching in the Health Science Career Academy at SHS.

This school year, I’ll be teaching:

• Project Lead the Way: Medical Interventions

• Basic Nursing Assistant (WNCC dual credit course)

• Sports Medicine

• Body Structure and Function (WNCC dual credit course)

I’m excited to share my knowledge and real-world experience with all of you, and I hope to spark a lifelong interest in healthcare careers!

In addition to teaching, I have the pleasure of serving as the Head Coach for both the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams. I’m looking forward to supporting our amazing SBXC athletes throughout the season.

Let’s make it a great year!
