What Did I Find Out Through My Experiment?

I found out from my experiment that the bubble wrap would do better than all of the materials tested surprisingly. My research was correct in where the more air pockets there are, the better it will keep out the sound, and that seemed to be the case with this experiment. The foam insulation did the second best, with the plain drywall doing the worst at keeping out the sound. In layers, if I were to put bubble wrap in the space between the walls, a room could be made to be very silent, even with noise. There wasn’t much of a difference in the decibel rating of the bubble wrap to the foam insulation, but I had tested it in different lengths from the box, which decreased the decibel rating about 2-3 points. I checked all this in lengths of a foot to three feet from the box, and I had the speakers at half volume. I could hear the difference between the bubble wrap and the foam insulation, which was not much of a difference, but if it were to be layered up, then there would be a greater difference in decibel ratings. There weren’t any things that went wrong in this experiment, unless you count that the other materials did not come in on time. I didn’t have anything go wrong with the boxes, but I had to make sure that I had a backup one to be prepared, so I had that on the standby in case anything happened to the other boxes.
