Art 2 is an intermediate-level visual arts course designed for students who have successfully completed Art 1 (or an equivalent introductory course).
In this class, you will move beyond the basics and begin to:
Develop your personal artistic voice
Strengthen your technical skills
Explore more complex concepts and themes
Create artwork with intention and meaning
Think and work like an artist
Art 2 is about growth, experimentation, and pushing yourself creatively.
What Will We Do in Art 2?
Throughout the year, you will:
Explore a variety of media (drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, digital art, etc.)
Develop conceptual ideas and artistic themes
Keep a sketchbook for brainstorming and practice
Participate in critiques and discussions
Reflect on your artistic process in writing
Build a portfolio of finished work
You will be challenged to take creative risks and solve visual problems independently.
