Experience

Welcome! My name is Tira Bunn and I  am one of the Design Media, Arts and Entertainment  Pathway leads as well as the Department Chair  at San Bernardino High School, in San Bernardino, CA.  For 8 years I have been a Mentor Teacher for the Teacher Induction Program, as well as a Master teacher to  individuals going through teacher prepartory programs. I have worked at two of our comprehensive High Schools in the district since I began teaching 18 years ago. I hold a Bachelor Of Arts Degree  in Art with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting from CSU San Bernardino and and Masters of Art in Education from National University. I am currently enrolled at Riverside Community college where I am finishing certifying in both Animation and Illustration. I have worked freelance on and off for the last 20 years creating illustrations, paintings, Christmas Ornaments and murals.  I have been awarded several Teacher of the Month and Year awards on both campuses and earned multiple teaching grants to use towards my classroom.

 Over the years I have taught Art 1-4, Ap Studio, 2 D Design, Ceramics and Drawing andPainting and AP Art History. I graduated with honors in Art from High School through the National Art Honor Society which I have established a charter on my current campus, allowing my students to meet the same criteria to receive their own awards. 

This year our program took a turn and became a certified Career Technical Education Pathway, creating relationships with industry partners and articulation with regional colleges. We're looking forward with partnering with Disney through their Education Series for Animation as well as Garner Holt Audioanimatronics and partnering with Local Community colleges.
