U0 Learning Goals 

Students will be able to:

• Understand and follow classroom rules and expectations

• Describe potential hazards in a science classroom

• Explain the importance of safety procedures in scientific work

• Identify and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Safely handling common laboratory equipment

• Following written and verbal laboratory procedures

• Recording observations and data accurately

• Properly disposing of chemicals and other laboratory waste

• Define density in their own words

• Explain the relationship between mass and volume in determining density

• Solve density problems using the formula Density = Mass ÷ Volume

• Accurately measure the mass and volume of a liquid sample

• Calculate density from experimental measurements
