Brown Community Learning Center
Brown Community Learning Center (BCLC) is a full-service, district-wide community center. The Center serves as a hub of educational, recreational, cultural, health, and civic partnerships, which optimize the conditions for learning for children and the community. Formerly Brown Intermediate, Brown Community Learning Center serves as the home of the Family and Community Engagement (FaCE) program. Through the FaCE program, we offer various courses designed to provide increased opportunities for families to improve their health, professional skills, and economic well-being.

Dear community partner:
We realize the importance of working together to support the families and students of the South Bend Community School Corporation. Family and Community Engagement (FaCE) is a revised initiative by the South Bend Community School Corporation. Some may know this effort as Parent University. FaCE provides necessary information to parents in a way that is more engaging, relevant to our parents’ needs, and centered around student empowerment. FaCE provides our parents with free school and community based workshops designed to engage and empower not only parents but the entire family. As FaCE evolves into a complete family responsive service, we encourage our families to complete the survey.
It is the steady parent participation and feedback within this endeavor, that will help develop academic and emotional growth in our children and families within the South Bend community schools.

Family and Community
In order to adequately support our students we must also support the environment that they live in. We want to focus on building relationships and bringing the community together through family activities designed to engage all ages.
Education
We strive to provide free school and community based workshops designed to engage and empower the whole family.
Health and Wellness
We encourage healthy habits and support each other’s journey for physical, mental, emotional, and personal wellness.
Financial Wellbeing
It is proven that when parents/guardians do better economically the family does better in all other aspects as well. We want to provide opportunities for families to improve financial literacy and their overall financial well-being.
