My name is Glorinela Aguilera and I am the Interpreter/Translator for BSD. I went to Kennedy Elementary, Dickinson Middle School, LaSalle HS and Adams HS. After HS I went to IUSB and majored in General Studies with minors in Spanish and Latin American Studies. I was born in Durango, Mexico and came to the US at the age of five. I am married to my high school boyfriend and we have two children, Victor and Santiago who attend McKinley DLI. Every year my family and I spend three weeks in Durango, Mexico so that my kids can connect with their roots, spend time with family and see where both my husband and I were born. In my free time I love to watch documentaries, read, and organize/clean and cook.
My name is Lauren Riggs. This is my 19th year in education, and my 17th year in the South Bend Community School Corporation. I spent 13 years in the classroom with most of my experience teaching 2nd-grade EL. For the past 5 years, I have been a Digital Integration Specialist. My love for education started very young as I spent a lot of time in my parents’ classrooms. They both are former SBCSC teachers. I graduated from Ball State University and attended Holy Cross College to complete my ENL courses. I love to spend time with my family which includes my 2 sons, ages 6 and 10, my husband of 15 years, and our 2 energetic dogs named Rocky and McGee. My weeknights and weekends consist of watching my oldest play soccer and my youngest play baseball. As a family, we enjoy going on vacations, including our annual trip to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.

I am from Monterrey N.L. Mexico and I lived there for a long time, I traveled a couple of times to the country of Spain, I really like the Spanish culture, especially the Bullfighter events.

Married for 45 years, two sons and one daughter. All 3 graduated from the University of Notre Dame.

My name is Maria Winston, I am the Bilingual Education Specialist at McKinley Elementary, I have been with SBCSC going on 12 years. I worked at PHM for six years before coming to SBCSC.
I enjoy working with our students and their families as we build strong and long lasting relationships. I get great joy out of helping and serving our bilingual families with services not just within our school but with those offered in the surrounding community. Promoting a love for reading is one of my main priorities.
I enjoy sharing my gift of art with students during the summer Migrant program and also as a way of promoting family activities and parent engagement throughout the school year. My hobbies revolve around art and staying as creative as possible. For relaxation I love to read a good book and going on motorcycle rides with my husband.
I have three adult children who are married, therefore I now have a total of six children. They have given me the gift of four grandchildren who bring me abundant joy and keep me active and on my toes.
I am college educated and married to a wonderful lady from the Dominican Republic.
I enjoy riding my bike every day and gardening.

I am here to work with the bilingual students and their families. I also translate and interpret. I am from the Dominican Republic. I have been married for almost 11 years now. I have two wonderful children and our two pets Sunny & Beane. Outside of school I truly love spending time with my family and friends. I also love to travel!

I was born and raised here in South Bend and am part of Riley HS class of 2018. I also attended Kennedy Primary Academy and LaSalle Intermediate Academy. I am the oldest sibling of 3, one younger brother and one younger sister. My father is from Michoacan and my mother is from Sinaloa--I try to visit every year! A couple other fun facts about me are; I was my high school mascot, I studied abroad in India, and I joined an empowering Latina sorority in college! I love to travel and love talking.
