Sayre Little League T-ball, Baseball, and Softball is coming to a close and all stars teams have been picked. Most teams have been practicing twice a week as well as a game or two a week. All the teams played their hearts out this year as some returned to play another year and others joined a team for the first time.

"My baseball team this season is doing awesome hopefully we will make the playoffs. I think the team is put together well," said fifth-grader Kaleb Lindemann.

You may not only see players on the field, but also in the concession stand throughout the season. Sayre Little League really shows what being on a team looks like helping out in all areas to make the season a success. Many players have been seen in the stand helping to sell drinks and food to further support their program. Many of the kids see their team as also part of their family.

Our team is good and we are all very close friends and that's probably why we have beaten Athens every time working together,” said fourth-grader Guire Romberger.

There are many different skills needed to play baseball and softball and there are many different positions that bring the games of baseball and softball together. Their are fielders, pitchers, catchers, runners, and hitters. Some are good at all the skills and some excel in one skill more than the others. But they all come together to create a good ball game and a good team.

"Softball is just as equally as hard as baseball. I don't like when the people compare the two," said sixth-grader Mylee Medina.
