Need a letter of recommendation? It is courteous to give a minimum of two weeks notice to someone if asking for a letter of recommendation. If you would like your counselor to write one for you, you can request that here.

Talk with Mrs. Ross if interested in this scholarship. The Savannah Chapter PEO is able to send 1 female to compete for the $2,500 scholarship. The chapter is looking for a female student who is a leader, scholar, volunteer, participated in mission or service trips/community service, and involved in extracurricular activities. Name: Local- John T. Belcher Scholarship Program (MSBA)
Amount: $750-1,500

Savannah may only nominate one student and the board of education will make the final selection as to who the district winner is. You may need to attach a separate sheet that includes your extracurricular activities, awards, etc. as there is not much room on the application to list activities. Name: Local- Cotillion for Achievement

There is an information meeting about this scholarship held during the school day. Check the announcements for this date. Students attending school in Andrew and Buchanan County that demonstrate high academic achievements, involvement in school activities and community service, plus high moral and ethical standards should apply. An ACT or SAT score is required. If selected as a Cotillion finalist, the student will need to attend "Adventures for Achievement" sessions, participate in the final interview, as well as attend the Cotillion Ball in February (a formal event). Please see Mrs. Green for help with this as it is very detail-oriented.

Name: Missouri Cattleman Scholarship Program
Amount: $1,000

Applicants must be a Missouri resident and a current paid member of the Missouri Junior Cattleman’s Association or the parent/legal guardian must be a current paid member of the Missouri Cattleman’s Association. Students must meet the following requirements: 2.5 GPA or better, submit three (3) letters of recommendation, submit a transcript, and demonstrate leadership potential through extracurricular activities and work experience. Preference may be given to students who plan to attend a Missouri college or university & have financial need. Have at least a "B" grade average (3.0 GPA), participate in at least one of the 27 eligible school-sponsored sports (see website for a list), and be a leader in school and community. Name: Arthur and Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarship
Amount: $4,000-10,000
Deadline: Must contact your local SAR Chapter Eagle Scout Chairman because deadlines vary
Open to all Eagle Scouts who are currently registered in an active unit and have not reached their 19th birthday during the year of application. (The application year is the calendar year, 01 Jan. to 31 Dec.) The year that Eagle was awarded is not restricted. College plans do not need to be completed in order to receive the cash scholarship. Three cash scholarship awards are given: As the National First Place winner - $10,000.00; Runner-up - $6,000.00; 2nd runner-up - $4,000.00. You may apply more than one year if you meet the age requirements but no more than $10,000.00 total may be granted to any one Eagle Scout. Entrants need to complete only one application -- the one for the chapter competition. Name: Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship
Amount: Up to $40,000 a year for 4 years

SELECTION CRITERIA - Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholars are selected based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, service to others, and leadership.
SELECTION PROCESS - A rigorous application review includes analysis of grades, standardized test scores, participation in available advanced courses, student essays, letters of recommendation, and family finances. Each year 30-40 students will be selected.
This highly competitive scholarship includes:
Up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school
Ability to pursue any area of study
Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid
Multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the college student experience
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - At a minimum, applicants must:
Graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2023
Intend to enroll full time in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2023
Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above
Demonstrate unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family annual gross income up to $95,000. During the selection process, the Foundation will conduct a full financial review which will take into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.
However, we anticipate that a majority of scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive a Pell grant.

Name: The National Honor Society (NHS) Scholarship

High school seniors who are active National Honor Society (NHS) members in good standing of an affiliated NHS chapter are eligible to apply for the scholarship. There are no limits to the number of applications per chapter. Students’ NHS membership must first be verified by their adviser after the member creates a student account on the NHS website. Name: Hagan Scholarship Foundation
Amount: Up to $7,500 per semester (renewable)
Deadline: December 1st, 2023
Created to help students in rural communities attend college. Students must have 3.5 GPA, must apply for the FAFSA and have an Adjusted Gross Household Income of $85,000 or less reported for Federal Income Tax Purposes, and must work at least 240 hours a year. Applicants must rank in the top 10% of their class and must be citizens of the United States, and Missouri residents. They must attend a Missouri college/university EXCEPT for the Roberta Capps Scholarship, whose recipient may attend the college or university of his/her choice. Four letters of recommendation (1 from principal or counselor, 2 from teachers, 1 from outside source) Students can apply by completing the MSSDAR Application and Financial Need forms. Name: GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

The Northwest Region Association of the Missouri State Teachers Association, recognizing the need for the recruitment of outstanding people into the teaching profession, has established a scholarship fund to be used to assist students going into the field of education. This scholarship must be used at a college or university within the state of Missouri. The Northwest Region Association awards these for the purpose of attracting students to the profession of education. We are looking for students with outstanding ability and sincerity of purpose. The Scholarship selection will be based on: character and personality, scholastic record, aptitude for teaching, sincerity of purpose to the teaching profession, and financial need. The application is a two step process:

Name: Earl Collins Foundation- Kiwanis International (Local)

Scholarship, as documented by high school transcript and need are primary factors in determining these awards. Applicants DO NOT need to be involved in a Kiwani's Club, if they are, it simply adds points to their application once it's evaluated. Eligibility standards and judging are evaluated based on the following criteria: Achievement, Volunteerism, Honors, Educational Objective, Letters of Recommendation, Financial Need, and Kiwanis Family Bonus. Name: Conservation Foundation of MO Scholarships

Ed Stegner Scholarship (5 given)- The goal of this scholarship is to provide major financial aid to encourage and assist students in five areas of natural resource management: fisheries, forestry, wildlife, parks and recreation, and soil and water conservation.
Minority Natural Resource Scholarship- The goal of this scholarship is to encourage and assist minority students who are interested in a career in natural resource management, especially in the fields of Fisheries, Wildlife, Forestry, Parks and Recreation, and Soil or Water Conservation. Must have been accepted and enrolled as an undergraduate in a Missouri college or university and should have already selected a major in a natural resource field. Preference may be given to individuals with demonstrated financial need.
Nana Family Scholarship- The goal of this scholarship is to support ethnic diversity within natural resource management. Applicants should be an individual of ethnic minority and must be enrolled in a field of study related to the management of natural resources, specifically fish, wildlife, forest, soil, and water at either the graduate or undergraduate level.

Awarded to a student attending Missouri Western and majoring in Computer Science, if there are no applicants majoring in computer science, preference will be given to applicants going into a medical field. This scholarship has been established as a memorial to Ryan D. Consolver, a 1996 graduate of Savannah High School. Ryan completed the building trades program at Hillyard Technical Center, and went on to get a degree in construction. Eligibility: High school seniors who are children or grandchildren (including step-children or step-grandchildren) of a member of MFA Agri Services Centers, MFA Oil Company Bulk Plants, or qualified customers of other MFA agencies. This memorial scholarship was established to honor Wayne and Evelyn Miller, lifelong residents of Andrew County, Missouri.
