Scholarship Search Sites: This is a list of sites where you can find multiple scholarships that are offered at the state or national level. If you need more guidance on this, stop by the counseling center and meet with Ms. Crawford or Mrs. Green. 

Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Scholarship: This is an application for the Dual Credit Scholarship.  Talk with Mrs. Green for more information.

Please note this is to be used as a guide only!  The scholarships and deadlines listed in the guide were developed from last year's database and are not a complete list of all scholarships available.  The Active Applications by Month on this page will provide you with the updated eligibility criteria and scholarship applications.  As scholarships become available during the year we will post them below.

Name: International PEO Star Scholarship Program

Amount: $2,500

Recommendation Dates from Chapter: Tuesday, August 15th thru Saturday, October 15th

Talk with Mrs. Ross if interested in this scholarship. The Savannah Chapter PEO is able to send 1 female to compete for the $2,500 scholarship. The chapter is looking for a female student who is a leader, scholar, volunteer, participated in mission or service trips/community service, and involved in extracurricular activities.  Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.  An interview will be required. Name: Local- John T. Belcher Scholarship Program (MSBA)

Amount: $750-1,500

Deadline: Turn in to Mrs. Green by Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023

Savannah may only nominate one student and the board of education will make the final selection as to who the district winner is. You may need to attach a separate sheet that includes your extracurricular activities, awards, etc. as there is not much room on the application to list activities. Name: Local- Cotillion for Achievement

Amount: $1,000 - $2,000

Deadline: Due to Mrs. Green in the Counseling Center by Tuesday, October 10th, 2023

There is an information meeting about this scholarship held during the school day. Check the announcements for this date. Students attending school in Andrew and Buchanan County that demonstrate high academic achievements, involvement in school activities and community service, plus high moral and ethical standards should apply. An ACT or SAT score is required.  If selected as a Cotillion finalist, the student will need to attend "Adventures for Achievement" sessions, participate in the final interview, as well as attend the Cotillion Ball in February (a formal event). Please see Mrs. Green for help with this as it is very detail-oriented.

Name: Missouri Cattleman Scholarship Program

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: Saturday, October 13th, 2023

Applicants must be a Missouri resident and a current paid member of the Missouri Junior Cattleman’s Association or the parent/legal guardian must be a current paid member of the Missouri Cattleman’s Association.  Students must meet the following requirements: 2.5 GPA or better, submit three (3) letters of recommendation, submit a transcript, and demonstrate leadership potential through extracurricular activities and work experience.  Preference may be given to students who plan to attend a Missouri college or university & have financial need.  Preference also given to those planning to major in an Agriculture field, Biochemistry, Food Science, and Nutrition and Plant Science. Name: Patrick L. Newman Mic-O-Say Scholarship Program

Amount: $1,000

Name: High School Heisman Award

Amount: Varies

Deadline: Tuesday, October 17h, 2023

Have at least a "B" grade average (3.0 GPA), participate in at least one of the 27 eligible school-sponsored sports (see website for a list), and be a leader in school and community. Students nominate themselves by applying online at Heisman Scholarship Application .  A counselor will review the student’s information and make the final submission (you will need your counselor’s email address). One male and one female from each school will be selected.

Name: Arthur and Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarship

Amount: $4,000-10,000

Deadline: Must contact your local SAR Chapter Eagle Scout Chairman because deadlines vary 

Open to all Eagle Scouts who are currently registered in an active unit and have not reached their 19th birthday during the year of application.   (The application year is the calendar year, 01 Jan. to 31 Dec.)   The year that Eagle was awarded is not restricted.  College plans do not need to be completed in order to receive the cash scholarship.  Three cash scholarship awards are given: As the National First Place winner - $10,000.00; Runner-up - $6,000.00; 2nd runner-up - $4,000.00.  You may apply more than one year if you meet the age requirements but no more than $10,000.00 total may be granted to any one Eagle Scout.  Entrants need to complete only one application -- the one for the chapter competition.  If it is a winner it is then used for the state competition, and if it is a winner again it is used for the national competition. Name: Elks Scholarship “Most Valuable Student”

Amount: $1,000 - $12,500 per year

Deadline: Monday, November 13th, 2023

Must be a current high school senior with the intent to attend a 4 year institution after graduation.  Applicants are evaluated based on the following selection criteria: leadership, academic records and achievements, community involvement, and financial need. Name: Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship

Amount:  Up to $40,000 a year for 4 years

Deadline: Thursday, November 16th, 2023 (Application open now)

SELECTION CRITERIA - Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholars are selected based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, service to others, and leadership.

SELECTION PROCESS - A rigorous application review includes analysis of grades, standardized test scores, participation in available advanced courses, student essays, letters of recommendation, and family finances. Each year 30-40 students will be selected.

Name: The National Honor Society (NHS) Scholarship

Amount Varies

Deadline: Thursday, November 30th, 2023

High school seniors who are active National Honor Society (NHS) members in good standing of an affiliated NHS chapter are eligible to apply for the scholarship. There are no limits to the number of applications per chapter. Students’ NHS membership must first be verified by their adviser after the member creates a student account on the NHS website. Name: Hagan Scholarship Foundation

Amount: Up to $7,500 per semester (renewable)

Deadline: December 1st, 2023

Created to help students in rural communities attend college. Students must have 3.5 GPA, must apply for the FAFSA and have an Adjusted Gross Household Income of $85,000 or less reported for Federal Income Tax Purposes, and must work at least 240 hours a year. Name: MSSDAR Scholarships (Multiple scholarships available)

Amount: Varies

Deadline: January 1st, 2024

Applicants must rank in the top 10% of their class and must be citizens of the United States, and Missouri residents. They must attend a Missouri college/university EXCEPT for the Roberta Capps Scholarship, whose recipient may attend the college or university of his/her choice. Four letters of recommendation (1 from principal or counselor, 2 from teachers, 1 from outside source) Students can apply by completing the MSSDAR Application and Financial Need forms. Name: GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

Amount: $10,000 Awards (Renewable up to 4 years) Numerous given

Deadline: January 4th, 2024

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must: 

A) Demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;

Name: America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders

Name: Northwest Region MSTA Scholarship

Amount: $800 (2 given)

The Northwest Region Association of the Missouri State Teachers Association, recognizing the need for the recruitment of outstanding people into the teaching profession, has established a scholarship fund to be used to assist students going into the field of education.  This scholarship must be used at a college or university within the state of Missouri. The Northwest Region Association awards these for the purpose of attracting students to the profession of education.  We are looking for students with outstanding ability and sincerity of purpose. The Scholarship selection will be based on: character and personality, scholastic record, aptitude for teaching, sincerity of purpose to the teaching profession, and financial need.  The application is a two step process: 


Name: Earl Collins Foundation- Kiwanis International (Local)

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: Due to Mrs. Green by Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 

Scholarship, as documented by high school transcript and need are primary factors in determining these awards.  Applicants DO NOT need to be involved in a Kiwani's Club, if they are, it simply adds points to their application once it's evaluated. Eligibility standards and judging are evaluated based on the following criteria: Achievement, Volunteerism, Honors, Educational Objective, Letters of Recommendation, Financial Need, and Kiwanis Family Bonus.  Applicant must be applying for entrance into an accredited institution of higher learning- junior or community college, trade school, police or fire academy, or university. Name: Conservation Foundation of MO Scholarships

Amount: $1,000 

Deadline: January 31st, 2024

Ed Stegner Scholarship (5 given)- The goal of this scholarship is to provide major financial aid to encourage and assist students in five areas of natural resource management: fisheries, forestry, wildlife, parks and recreation, and soil and water conservation.  


Minority Natural Resource Scholarship- The goal of this scholarship is to encourage and assist minority students who are interested in a career in natural resource management, especially in the fields of Fisheries, Wildlife, Forestry, Parks and Recreation, and Soil or Water Conservation. Must have been accepted and enrolled as an undergraduate in a Missouri college or university and should have already selected a major in a natural resource field. Preference may be given to individuals with demonstrated financial need. 


Nana Family Scholarship- The goal of this scholarship is to support ethnic diversity within natural resource management. Applicants should be an individual of ethnic minority and must be enrolled in a field of study related to the management of natural resources, specifically fish, wildlife, forest, soil, and water at either the graduate or undergraduate level.


Name: Zac Nothhouse Memorial Computer Science Scholarship (MWSU) (local)

Awarded to a student attending Missouri Western and majoring in Computer Science, if there are no applicants majoring in computer science, preference will be given to applicants going into a medical field. Name: Missouri Conservation Agents Scholarship

Amount: $500

Name: Ryan D. Consolver Memorial (local)

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: Due to Mrs. Green by Tuesday, February 6th, 2024

This scholarship has been established as a memorial to Ryan D. Consolver, a 1996 graduate of Savannah High School. Ryan completed the building trades program at Hillyard Technical Center, and went on to get a degree in construction. Preference for this award will be given to a student seeking a career in construction OR engineering. Name: MFA Foundation Scholarship

Amount: Previously $2,000

Deadline: Thursday, February 15th, 2024

Eligibility: High school seniors who are children or grandchildren (including step-children or step-grandchildren) of a member of MFA Agri Services Centers, MFA Oil Company Bulk Plants, or qualified customers of other MFA agencies. Applicants must be a resident of Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas or Oklahoma. MFA Application 

The scholarship winner is selected by a local committee, which considers the applicant’s:

•Interest in furthering his/her education in agriculture or other fields that benefit rural life.

•Participation and leadership in school, church and community activities.

•Reputation for good citizenship and moral character.

Name:  Avenue City School Educational Scholarship (local)

This scholarship is for graduates of the Avenue City School. To be eligible for this scholarship the applicant must reside within the boundaries of the Avenue City R-IX School District and have attended Avenue City School District for at least one year. Avenue City Educational Application

Named in memory of Sierra Church, who attended Savannah High School =. Her smile brought joy to others for years and this scholarship was set up to continue to “spread the joy” and to “be the change”. Due to Sierra’s diagnosis of Down Syndrome, she received Special Education Services. Name: Missouri Hometown Mutual Insurance Company Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: Due Friday, March 1st, 2024 

Given to a graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited college/university or technical school in the state of Missouri.  The cover page and page 2 should be completed by the counselor.  Pages 3 and 4 should be completed by the student.  Once complete, you will mail the application to the provided address no later than March 1st. Amount: a minimum of $250

Name: Harry F. Duncan American Dream Foundation Scholarship (local)

Amount: First year-$5,000; renewable for 3 years at $2,000 per year (4 given)

Deadline: (Local) Due to Mrs. Green by Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 

Criteria includes: students not in the top 10%, service to Savannah schools, attitude towards school, commitment to school rules, desire to achieve to the best of ability, good attendance, willingness to go the “extra mile”, and financial need. Name: MWGEA Golf Scholarship

Amount: Multiple $2,000

The Missouri Women’s Golf Education Association, Inc. grants scholarships to high school students on one occasion per high school graduate. These are given in recognition of her overall academic record, community service activities, leadership and golf experience.  MWGEA Application

Amount: $1000

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Savannah R-III High School in good standing with financial need.

Must be an Andrew County resident attending an approved MO college or university. Financial need is taken into consideration. Name: Wayne E. Miller Memorial Scholarship (Local)

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: Must fill out the application link by Wednesday, March 20th, 2024

This memorial scholarship was established to honor Wayne and Evelyn Miller, lifelong residents of Andrew County, Missouri. They highly valued education and encouraged young people to pursue formal training beyond high school. The $1000 award will be split equally between the school terms for the year.  There is no GPA requirement and does not require letters of recommendation.  Can be for any student planning to attend a college/university or trade school.  Wayne E. The SHS Art Club will provide a scholarship to further the art education of a graduating senior from Savannah High School. This scholarship is made possible through fundraising of Art Club. The graduate to be awarded the scholarship will be determined by a scholarship committee. Interested students should submit their application essay and portfolio for the art scholarship. Criteria for this scholarship includes: Senior who has attended at least 3 years at SHS, rank in the top 25%, involved in community/school activities, and plans to major in business or agriculture or a related field.

This scholarship is available for a graduating female senior attending school in Andrew, Buchanan, Clinton, DeKalb, or Holt  County, majoring in education, and in the top 25% of their graduating class.  School and community involvement and financial need will be considered. Name: Aiden McVicker Scholarship (Local)

Aiden McVicker is an 11-year-old boy who lives in Cameron, MO and was born with bilateral anophthalmia. This means that he was born without eyes or any eye structure (optic chiasm, nerve, etc.). As a result, Aiden does not possess vision or light perception.
