Scholarships are added throughout the school year as information becomes available. Students are encouraged to check this page regularly, as deadlines and requirements vary. It is the student's responsibility to review eligibility requirements, complete applications, and submit all materials by the stated deadlines.
Tips:
Read the eligibility requirements carefully.
Note all deadlines.
Request recommendation letters early.
Proofread essays and look over the entire application before submitting.
Keep copies of submitted applications.
Be sure your name and all other information is legible.
Do not use pencil on paper applicatons.
All LOCAL scholarships that are NOT Google Forms need to be submitted as a paper copy, stapled together to the collection box in the counseling center.

Need a transcript? Please see Mrs. Hughes in the Counseling Center or request a transcript here. Transcripts are free for current students. Alumni need to go to www.parchment.com to request a transcript.
Need a letter of recommendation? It is courteous to give a minimum of two weeks notice to someone if asking for a letter of recommendation. If you would like your counselor to write one for you, you can request that here.

Cotillion for Achievement
Amount: $1,000 - $2,000
Deadline: Due to Ms. Crawford in the Counseling Center by October 9th
Must demonstrate high academic achievements, involvement in school activities and community service, plus high moral and ethical standards should apply. An ACT or SAT score is required. If selected as a Cotillion finalist, the student will need to attend "Adventures for Achievement" sessions, participate in the final interview, as well as attend the Cotillion Ball in February (a formal event).
Please see Ms. Crawford for help with this as it is very detail-oriented.

Missouri Cattleman Scholarship Program
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: Online, October 13th
Applicants must be a Missouri resident and a current paid member of the Missouri Junior Cattlemen’s Association or the parent/legal guardian must be a current paid member of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association. Students must meet the following requirements: 2.5 GPA or better, submit three (3) letters of recommendation, submit a transcript, and demonstrate leadership potential through extracurricular activities and work experience. Preference may be given to students who plan to attend a Missouri college or university & have financial need. Preference also given to those planning to major in an Agriculture field, Biochemistry, Food Science, and Nutrition and Plant Science. Patrick L. Newman Mic-O-Say Scholarship Program
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: October 15th
The Newman Mic-O-Say Scholarship provides educational assistance to members of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. This scholarship honors a man who spent a good part of his life involved with Boy Scouts. Murphy, Watson, and Burr Eye Center Scholarship
Amount: $500
Deadline: October 31st
Awarded to a student with a strong background in science and a high GPA in science courses. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing a career in a science-related field.

Dr. Wood Martin Nursing Scholarship
Amount: $2000 (3 awarded)
Deadline: October 31st
This scholarship is given to a student pursuing a health related career with special preference given to those who intend to become a nurse. Student must have attended SHS for 3 years. The recipient will be selected based on scholarship, leadership, character, community service, and financial need.
John T. Belcher Scholarship Program (MSBA)
Amount: $750-1,500
Deadline: October 31st
MSBA FutureBuilders established the scholarship program in memory of John T. Belcher, who was instrumental in developing innovative financing programs for Missouri school districts. The learning environment for thousands of Missouri’s public school students improved as a result of his work.
A $1000 annual scholarship is awarded to a student in each of MSBA’s 17 regions. Applicants are judged on the basis of academic performance, extracurricular activities and the quality of an essay. A statewide winner is selected from this group of regional winners and awarded an additional $1500.
Savannah may only nominate one student and the board of education will make the final selection as to who the district winner is. You may need to attach a separate sheet that includes your extracurricular activities, awards, etc. as there is not much room on the application to list activities. Elks Scholarship “Most Valuable Student”
Amount: $1,000 - $12,500 per year
Deadline: Monday, November 12th
Do not have to be a member of the Elks club. Must be a current high school senior with the intent to attend a 4 year institution after graduation. Applicants are evaluated based on the following selection criteria: leadership, academic records and achievements, community involvement, and financial need. NHS Scholarship
Amount: Varies
Deadline: November 20th
To be eligible, a student must be:
A high school senior and/or expecting to receive a high school diploma during the current academic year.
An active member in good standing of a National Honor Society chapter, meeting all membership requirements and obligations of the local chapter.
An NHS student account holder, verified by the NHS chapter adviser.
Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. college or university.
NHS Scholarship Application
Arthur and Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarship
Amount: $4,000-10,000
Deadline: Must contact your local SAR Chapter Eagle Scout Chairman because deadlines vary
Open to all Eagle Scouts who are currently registered in an active unit and have not reached their 19th birthday during the year of application. (The application year is the calendar year, 01 Jan. to 31 Dec.) The year that Eagle was awarded is not restricted. College plans do not need to be completed in order to receive the cash scholarship. Three cash scholarship awards are given: As the National First Place winner - $10,000.00; Runner-up - $6,000.00; 2nd runner-up - $4,000.00. You may apply more than one year if you meet the age requirements but no more than $10,000.00 total may be granted to any one Eagle Scout. Entrants need to complete only one application -- the one for the chapter competition. For a student pursuing a pharmaceutical or medical education. Criteria includes: academics, athletic interests, moral and personality traits, and financial need.

Helen K. Joyce Scholarship (Local)
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: Due to the Counseling Center by February 25th
This scholarship is for females only- must be enrolled or intending to enroll in a full-time course of study through an accredited educational institution; including a four-year university, a two-year community college or a program to prepare for a career in a trade. A high school grade point average of at least 2.5 on a four-point scale is required.
Bob Wells Memorial Scholarship Fund (Local)
Amount: Varies
Deadline: Due to the Counseling Center by February 28th
This scholarship is in memory of Bob Wells and is for students seeking an education in Tech schools as well as the following degrees: Business, Agriculture, Psychology, Sociology, or Gerontology

A scholarship will be given to a Savannah Senior on behalf of the Kneale Family Trust. Preference will be given to students planning a vocational field of study. Secondary preference will be given to students planning a two- or four-year course of study.

Emery Sapp and Sons Foundation Scholarship - online application
Amount: $1,500 (multiple given)
Deadline: March 31st
Applicant is applying for/currently attending college, graduate school, or a skilled trade school (vocational or technical). Trade school students must be pursuing a program requiring one academic year or more for certification. An applicant could also be involved in a community and/or industry craft training program. Applicant is pursuing a career in the construction industry. Eligibility is not limited to students pursuing technical degrees. The foundation retains the right to determine if a major or program in which the student is enrolled meets this eligibility requirement. Applicants may be awarded only one scholarship annually.
