Scholarships are added throughout the school year as information becomes available. Students are encouraged to check this page regularly, as deadlines and requirements vary. It is the student's responsibility to review eligibility requirements, complete applications, and submit all materials by the stated deadlines.
Tips:
Read the eligibility requirements carefully.
Note all deadlines.
Request recommendation letters early.
Proofread essays and look over the entire application before submitting.
Keep copies of submitted applications.
Be sure your name and all other information is legible.
Do not use pencil on paper applicatons.
All LOCAL scholarships that are NOT Google Forms need to be submitted as a paper copy, stapled together to the collection box in the counseling center.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Need a transcript? Please see Mrs. Hughes in the Counseling Center or request a transcript here. Transcripts are free for current students. Alumni need to go to www.parchment.com to request a transcript.
Need a letter of recommendation? It is courteous to give a minimum of two weeks notice to someone if asking for a letter of recommendation. If you would like your counselor to write one for you, you can request that here.

Cotillion for Achievement
Amount: $1,000 - $2,000
Deadline: Due to Ms. Crawford in the Counseling Center by October 9th
Must demonstrate high academic achievements, involvement in school activities and community service, plus high moral and ethical standards should apply. An ACT or SAT score is required. If selected as a Cotillion finalist, the student will need to attend "Adventures for Achievement" sessions, participate in the final interview, as well as attend the Cotillion Ball in February (a formal event).
Please see Ms. Crawford for help with this as it is very detail-oriented.

Murphy, Watson, and Burr Eye Center Scholarship
Amount: $500
Deadline: October 31st
Awarded to a student with a strong background in science and a high GPA in science courses. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing a career in a science-related field.

Dr. Wood Martin Nursing Scholarship
Amount: $2000 (3 awarded)
Deadline: October 31st
This scholarship is given to a student pursuing a health related career with special preference given to those who intend to become a nurse. Student must have attended SHS for 3 years. The recipient will be selected based on scholarship, leadership, character, community service, and financial need.
John T. Belcher Scholarship Program (MSBA)
Amount: $750-1,500
Deadline: October 31st
MSBA FutureBuilders established the scholarship program in memory of John T. Belcher, who was instrumental in developing innovative financing programs for Missouri school districts. The learning environment for thousands of Missouri’s public school students improved as a result of his work.
A $1000 annual scholarship is awarded to a student in each of MSBA’s 17 regions. Applicants are judged on the basis of academic performance, extracurricular activities and the quality of an essay. A statewide winner is selected from this group of regional winners and awarded an additional $1500.
Savannah may only nominate one student and the board of education will make the final selection as to who the district winner is. You may need to attach a separate sheet that includes your extracurricular activities, awards, etc. as there is not much room on the application to list activities. The Genevieve and Pat Fallis Scholarship (local)
Amount: $762
Deadline: January 31st, by 3 pm.
For a student pursuing a pharmaceutical or medical education. Criteria includes: academics, athletic interests, moral and personality traits, and financial need.

Kneale Scholarship
Amount: Varies
Deadline: March 31st
A scholarship will be given to a Savannah Senior on behalf of the Kneale Family Trust. Preference will be given to students planning a vocational field of study. Secondary preference will be given to students planning a two- or four-year course of study.
