Our Programs/ Services

School-wide Activities

The school counselor's goal is to ensure that all students leave Diamond Elementary School with the attitudes, knowledge, and skills to be successful in middle and high school, and in their post-secondary undertakings. In order to help with the development of these skills, the counselor will provide monthly activities and themes in academics, college and career, and social-emotional development.

In-class Instruction

As school counselors we provide in-class instruction to all students. The topics presented fall within the three ASCA domains: academic, social-emotional, and college and career.

Group Counseling

Some topics are presented in small groups for 6-8 weeks to ensure that our students are gaining the necessary tools to be successful at Diamond Elementary and in their transition to middle school.

Individual Counseling

Based on student need, as school counselors, we provide 1:1 student counseling for academic, college and career, and social-emotional development. This counseling is designed to be short term, lasting from 6-8 weeks.

Our School Counseling Program Overview

As a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program, we function under a Multi-Tier Multi-Domain Systems of Support Model. Through this model, we provide our students with support in all 3 domains: academic, college and career, and social-emotional, based on their specific needs and school data.
