ABSENCES
Check Google Classroom or contact me directly.
When you return to class, check the folders located in the front of the room.
If you have been absent for an extended period of time, see/email me.
Arrive to class on time. If you are late, you will need a pass.
Sharpen pencils and get pens out at the beginning of class. If you need to throw something out, wait until an appropriate time (NOT during a lesson).
Bathroom breaks will be taken at the beginning or end of the period.
Upon your arrival, look for your “Do Now” task.
Above all else, conduct yourselves with integrity. Have respect for yourself, others, and the space we are in.
Unacceptable behavior includes anything that interrupts the teaching and learning process.
Some examples: Continuous talking, phone use in class, abusive or offensive language (slurs, stereotypes, or any other derogatory language) and/or indecent gestures, and throwing objects in class.
Cell Phones: They are away and silent. Consequences for having one out during the lesson & work period are contact parent and referral.
When a substitute is present
You are to treat them with respect. They will be guests here in your home. Your job is to do the work that has been left for you and be productive in my absence.
Extras
HAND IN WORK THAT YOU ARE PROUD OF...not work you have copied, rushed, or cared nothing about.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY! I will treat you as the young adults that you are, and in turn, you are expected to treat your education with this level of maturity.
I will do my absolute best every day. This does not mean I will always have the perfect lesson or get all papers graded the next day. This means I will give it my all and will be honest with you about any changes I need to make in the curriculum or grades that will take some extra time.
I will set up the learning space and the opportunity for growth; however, it is the work you put in that will determine what you will get out.
