Sports & Entertainment Marketing Syllabus
This is a project-based course - students will engage in a variety of educational projects to learn through a hands-on curriculum!
Students in this class will:
Learn the basics of marketing
4 P’s of Marketing & 7 Functions of Marketing
Pricing, Sales & Promotion Strategies
Ethics in Marketing
Conduct a SWOT Analysis
Create business & marketing plans
Develop their own MLB expansion team from scratch!
Draft players for their team & compete for an SEM MLB World Series Title.
Create a Logo, Stadium, Brand Endorsements, and much more.
Grading Policy
75% of the grade is based on a culminated average of projects, notebooks, and assignments.
25% of the grade is based on class participation - students who miss class or are late regularly are more likely to earn a poor participation grade.
Due Dates policy
All due dates are posted in google classroom and are considered to be firm unless discussed with me with an acceptable reason.
After the due date students may submit late work for up to 50% credit through the end of the quarter.
All classwork is posted in Google Classroom daily.
It is the responsibility of students to check Google Classroom for updates and to reach out to Mr. Cooper when they miss a class - regardless of the reason.
If students need an extension for a due date they must request one prior to the due date.
Classroom Rules & expectations
Follow all school rules in the classroom.
On time, in their seats, prepared, and ready to learn when the period begins.
Participate actively & do their best work.
Cell phones must be away during instruction.
Most importantly, do your best and have fun!
Consequences:
1st Offense - Verbal Warning
2nd offense - Student sent to the hallway for a one-on-one discussion/Email Home
3rd Offense - Phone Call Home
Further Offenses - Detention/Referrals
