My name is Mrs. Coffey. I was born in northern New Hampshire and attended college in Vermont. I have lived in the Mount Washington Valley for over 25 years, and truly love where I live! This will be my 20th year working in the Conway School District. I spent the first part of my career working at John Fuller Elementary School and this year I am looking forward to working with students and staff throughout our entire
school district!
My three favorite jobs in life are being a wife, a mom, and a teacher. I have been married for over 20 years to my best friend and husband Matt, Mr. Coffey. :) He is very supportive and always brainstorming, building, and creating new things for my classroom and our school. I am a mom of two amazing boys who are growing quickly. I am so lucky to be their mom and have had the opportunity to watch them grow both in school and at home. As a family we enjoy being outdoors as much as possible and having as many adventures as we can together. In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, camping, gardening, running and one of my new favorite pastimes is working out at Crossfit.
As a teacher, I want you to know that my students become part of my “school” family. I think that making connections with students is one of the most important things we can do as educators to help our students. As a class, we spend many hours together creating a learning environment that each child can feel safe, respected, and included. Once students are comfortable in their learning environment, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to watch the growing and learning begin.
From an early age, I have always wanted to be a teacher and help others. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I love my job as a teacher and I am excited for another great school year!
My name is Kelsey MacMillan and I am in my second year of teaching 4th grade. Spending many years watching my mom teach elementary students, I knew from an early age that I too wanted to help others grow. I received my undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education and English and my master's degree in Leadership. Most recently, I completed my doctoral degree in Adult Education. Having spent 13 years working at a Wilderness Medicine school, I was able to gain first-hand exposure to the power of experiential learning opportunities and the impact they have on making students feel excited about their educational journey. I find value in exposing youth to practical life-skills in addition to standard subject areas. While maintaining a focus on learning, a sense of community is at the heart of my classroom, making sure everyone feels they are welcome and respected.
Outside of school, you will often find me and my husband at a hockey rink watching our sons play.
Hi! My name is Deb Parsons and I currently teach fourth grade at Mountainside Intermediate School. I am in my 29th year of teaching. In my younger days I was known as Debbie Russell, the daughter of two teachers and current holder of the all time basketball scoring record for boys and girls at Kennett High School. I attended Conway Elementary School, Kennett Junior and Senior High School. I attended the University of New Hampshire where I played Division I basketball all four years and received my bachelor of science degree in mathematics education. I continued my education at UNH and received my master’s of education degree.
I have been married to my husband Mike for 23 years and together, we have two children Sierra and Aiden. We have 2 dogs, Emerson and Moose and 2 cats, Twinkle and Kent. My personal motto is, “Be true to you!” and I characterize my teaching style with the 3 F’s: Fair, Firm, and FUN!
One of my favorite things to do is float on Big Pea Porridge Pond listening to the loons.
Hello!! I am Kim Whigham, fourth grade teacher at Mountainside Intermediate School. This is my 20th year teaching in this district. My teaching experience includes 5th grade, 3rd grade and K/1 multi-age. My favorite part of teaching is seeing a child’s face light up when they have learned something. It melts my heart to see how proud they feel about themselves! We build our classroom family with a focus on kindness, acceptance and safety. Oh and of course, we share lots of laughs and have fun all while learning!
I am the proud mom of two daughters, Hannah and Emma. I am married to my forever love, Scott. I love spending time with my family. In the winter, you can catch us skiing at Cranmore, or snowmobiling on the trails. Summertime is our favorite! Being on the boat is our happy place! We enjoy swimming, tubing, and catching rays! When at the ocean, boogie boarding is a must! During the spring and fall months we are usually riding bikes, playing outside, and having campfires on the weekends.
