This is Mrs. Bass’s eighteenth year of teaching in New Hampshire. She has taught grades one through five at both Gilmanton School and another area school. She enjoys working with younger children and loves teaching first grade!
Mrs. Bass is thrilled to live here in New Hampshire, but she is originally from upstate New York. She attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, where she received her B.S. degree in Education Studies and German. More recently, she earned her Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Plymouth State. She has taught in a variety of capacities ranging from infants to adults. Among those teaching experiences, Mrs. Bass taught at a trilingual Grundschule (elementary school) in southwestern Germany as well as teaching second grade in the small country of Antigua, located in the Caribbean.
When she’s home in Gilmanton Iron Works, Mrs. Bass loves spending time with her family. She loves to be outdoors, whether she is gardening, hiking, or playing Ultimate Frisbee. Aside from teaching in the classroom, Mrs. Bass keeps busy teaching and learning! She spends her summers teaching teachers around the country as a Responsive Classroom Consulting Teacher.
Mrs. Bass's other experiences have included serving on the curriculum committee, co-chairing the language arts committee, facilitating the Young Inventors Program, mentoring new teachers, tutoring before and after school, chairing a recycling committee, working with the NHEET science team, and participating in a technology cohort through the state of New Hampshire.
