Winter Sports at ECS
Our basketball season has concluded. Please enjoy these sentiments from our coaches regarding the season.
The winter season brought with it playoff and championship game appearances.
Girls basketball - message from coach:
The girls basketball team wrapped up an exciting and successful season, finishing with an overall record of 6–9. While the record tells part of the story, it doesn’t fully capture the heart, energy, and determination this team showed every time they stepped on the court.
From the first practice to the final buzzer, the girls competed with tremendous effort and positivity. This season was one of growth for many of our players, as they developed their skills, built confidence, and learned what it means to work together as a team. Their improvement throughout the season was evident in their teamwork, communication, and resilience in close games.
We would especially like to recognize Kylie, Olivia, Tori and Holly as our four 8th graders, who played their final season and provided outstanding leadership all year long. Their experience, work ethic, and commitment set the tone for the team.
Offensively, the team was led by their three captains: Holly with 199 points, Tori with 158 points and Olivia with 71 points
These players stepped up in big moments and consistently gave our team a scoring spark. More importantly, they led by example and helped guide our younger players throughout the season.
We are incredibly proud of the effort and sportsmanship shown by every member of the team. The future is bright for girls basketball, and look forward to building on this season’s growth and success next year.
Great job, girls!
Boys:
The Epsom Eagles Boys Basketball team advanced to the Southeast League Championship game on Thursday, February 5th, but lost to the Strafford Spartans 69-45.
