The Kindergarten art curriculum is focuses on student exploration with art materials, techniques, and processes. Students will learn the basics of art making while working in a safe and cooperative environment.
· Recognize the terms line, color, texture, and shape and explore these ideas in a variety of art projects.
· Experiment with different media (crayons, paint, clay, etc.)
· Learn to use art tools in a safe and responsible manner.
· Communicate and express ideas about works of art.
· Combine different art media to create a composition.
· Understand the differences between materials, techniques, and processes used in making art.
· Work with clay to create three-dimensional art.
· Identify primary colors and mixes to make secondary colors.
· Communicate and express ideas about works of art.
· Recognize the use of color in art works creates different feeling and expressions.
· Understand the difference between line, shape and color and uses these art elements
· to depict objects, people and places.
· Communicate and interpret their thoughts about their own and others’ artwork.
