Farewell to Team Summit Social Studies
June 2025 - It's been the best life. Carpe' diem.
I started the year with this greeting. Do you remember?
Welcome to Team Summit, 7th Grade Social Studies!
I’m thrilled to embark on this journey with you this year. Together, we’ll dive into the past to uncover its influence on the present and how it shapes our future. Our exploration will connect historical events with our lives today and inspire us to think critically about the world around us.
Let’s get started on this exciting adventure of discovery and learning!
And end the year with a fond farewell to a wonderful community.
I can't believe that I have been teaching in the HB world for over 3 decades and that am now teaching children of previous students that were in my classroom years ago.
I guess having a job that is a life passion makes a difference. This year has been a whirlwind and I leave with so many sick days in the bank that I could have been off for almost the last two months! Yet, I knew that I just couldn't do that when I decided it was time to explore new adventures in February. I knew that I would use some of those days and the days I am out I miss my kids. I also realized that deciding to retire would mean that I would still finish the year with them.
So, as I end my work at HBMS, it is with a tender heart which makes it hard to be there and also hard to take the days off that I have earned over a long tenure of wonderful shared experiences. Each day we are present is a gift and I am grateful for all of them.
Carpe Diem!
Where do you want to go in our world?
What do you want to become in your future?😉
In my future, I will continue to earn my EDD and also teach again.
I am blessed with a love and passion for teaching that will take me anywhere. I truly enjoy sharing the world with the amazing next generation as a teacher! It's been absolutely wonderful.
I remember so many wonderful students from over the past many years. There are those of you who pushed me to keep going, those who made me realize the value that we share in class when we are there, those who didn't like school but were still so well behaved in my classroom or who showed up to my classes even when you moved on to 8th grade. Every memory of so many wonderful students and experiences has been a blessing and gift that no one can ever take from me.
HBMS thank you for the wonderful years of my life. Teaching here is the next best part of my life outside of my family and loved ones. I am so grateful for the inspiration to make the most of each day and for the many memories - thank you.
