"You can't educate a child who isn't healthy and you can't keep children healthy who aren't educated"

Jocelyn Elders, Former US Surgeon General

Health services at Exeter High School is committed to the health and wellness of both students and staff.

We provide assessment and treatment of minor illness and injuries, referrals to area healthcare agencies and physicians on a case by case basis. We welcome calls and visits from parents during the school day.

In order to provide the best possible care to students, students and parents are requested to inform the nurse(s) of any particular health problems that should be a matter of record. Please contact us when your child has an illness or injury that may require assistance while at school. It is our pleasure to provide health services to your child.

As an update, staff at SAU 16 have been working with the NH Department of Health and Human Services to control pertussis in the Exeter High School. Pertussis - also known as whooping cough - is a cough syndrome caused by infection by the bacteria Bordetella pertussis. Since the first patients were confirmed at our school in June 2018, it appears the number of new cases has decreased and is back to our community's baseline level. To protect yourself and prevent additional cases, please be sure that you and your family are up to date on your vaccinations and, if your child is exhibiting signs of pertussis, please keep your child home from school and school related events and seek medical care with your usual provider. Also, remember to practice good hand and respiratory hygiene.

Thank you in advance for helping us to keep our community as healthy as possible.

All parents/guardians are requested to provide current Emergency Information for their child(ren) every year during the ANNUAL UPDATE OF INFORMATION. The purpose of this is to assist the school in reaching parents or guardians as soon as possible should any emergency arise. Please notify the Health Office of changes in pertinent information. Feel free to call the Health office if you need assistance with this process.
