What are they? Why have them?

• Target Responses (also known as mentor samples) are guides for teachers (not students).
  

• Teachers use them for planning and supporting students across a unit.
  

• They are behind-the-scenes planning tools for helping the teacher think about effective ways students might engage with a learning experience and interact with the DCIs, SEPs, or CCCs in practice.
  

• Target Responses help teachers think through the learning outcomes they are hoping students will attain.
