Transfer Credits

Your completed course credits may be transferable to the high schools in San Jose Unified School District(SJUSD). San Jose Chinese School provides transcripts at the completion time of courses for students to apply for credit transfer in their schools.

Qualification

  • High school students at SJUSD.

  • High school students studying in grades 9-12 at San Jose Chinese School. High school students studying in grades below 9 will be considered based on specific circumstances.

  • Have a minimum of 70% class attendance rate (max. 9 absences per school year).

  • Earn an average score of 75 (out of 100).

Limitations on transfer credits

  • Each year, up to five Pass/No Pass credits can be granted at SJUSD high schools for successful completion of the approved language programs and requirements at SJCS.

  • The transferable credits can only be granted for a sequence of Chinese I, Chinese II, Chinese III, and AP Chinese. Students are not allowed to skip the course pathway.

Make-up classes

  • Students who don't meet the attendance requirement are advised to attend make-up classes. Only up to 5 make-up classes are allowed. The class schedule will be announced in January and held from March to April.

  • Print the make-up class application form and have signatures from the designated make-up class teachers are required for all make-up classes to verify students’ attendance.

  • Email the completed make-up class form along with the transfer credit request form to Academic Department for evaluation and approval by the due date.
