New Teacher Resources:
Google Classroom: Google Classroom is a powerful tool for organizing assignments, communicating with students, and facilitating collaboration in a digital environment. As a new teacher, I found Google Classroom invaluable for streamlining, distributing resources, and providing feedback to students. I utilized Google Classroom to create and share assignments, post announcements, and online discussions. Its integration with Google Drive allowed students to access materials easily, submit assignments digitally, and collaborate on documents. Moving forward, I am excited to continue using Google Classroom to enhance the learning experience for my students and streamline administrative tasks.
Kahoot!: Kahoot! is an interactive game-based learning platform that I incorporated into my lessons to assess student understanding and review content. I created custom quizzes and activities on Kahoot! to make learning fun and interactive for my students. By gamifying the learning process, Kahoot! motivated students to actively participate and demonstrated their mastery of concepts in a competitive and engaging manner. I also used Kahoot! to review material before assessments, reinforce learning objectives, and promote friendly competition among students. Its user-friendly interface and extensive library of pre-made quizzes make Kahoot! a valuable resource for new teachers looking to incorporate technology into their classroom instruction.
Teachers Pay Teachers: Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT) is an online marketplace where educators can buy, sell, and share educational resources, including activities, and worksheets. As a new teacher, TpT provided me with a ton of high-quality resources created by experienced educators that I could adapt and customize to meet the needs of my students. Whether I needed supplemental materials, differentiated activities, or engaging lesson plans, TpT offered a wide range of resources across grade levels and subject areas. I particularly appreciated the ability to preview resources, read reviews from other educators, and collaborate with sellers to tailor resources to my specific instructional goals. Moving forward, I will continue exploring TpT for teaching resources and contributing to the community by sharing my own creations.
Edpuzzle: Edpuzzle is an interactive video platform that allows teachers to customize pre-existing videos or create their own to engage students in active learning. I used Edpuzzle to enhance my lessons. This not only encouraged active engagement and comprehension but also provided valuable data on student progress and understanding. Edpuzzle's analytics feature allowed me to monitor student performance and identify areas for intervention or reteaching. Additionally, I appreciated the ability to track student viewing behavior and ensure accountability. As I continue my teaching journey, I plan to explore more creative ways to integrate Edpuzzle into my instruction to promote deeper learning and critical thinking.
CommonLit: CommonLit is a free digital platform offering a huge collection of high-quality reading passages, literary texts, and corresponding instructional resources. As a new teacher, I found CommonLit to be an invaluable resource for building literacy skills, promoting close reading, and fostering critical thinking in my students. I utilized CommonLit's extensive library of texts to provide differentiated reading materials aligned with diverse interests and reading levels. Additionally, I leveraged CommonLit's built-in assessment tools, discussion questions, and writing prompts to scaffold instruction, assess student progress, and facilitate meaningful classroom discussions. Moving forward, I am excited to continue exploring CommonLit's resources and integrating them into my curriculum to support literacy development across content areas.
By leveraging these resources, new teachers can enhance their teaching practice, engage students in meaningful learning experiences, and contribute to the success of their students. As an active contributor to the profession, I am excited to share these resources with other educators and continue learning and growing as a teacher.
