"The Native Biodiversity Corps (NBC) brings together high school students throughout San Diego for immersion in nature-based, social learning experiences in their neighborhoods that are designed to enhance inquiry and critical-thinking skills. Alongside San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance mentors, Corps members discover and observe native wildlife, learn about opportunities for STEM careers, and cultivate an appreciation of nature and how human activities impact the health and composition of local ecosystems.

NBC will be working with all three academies, engaging them with information and guidance about embedding native plant diversity into the Zen Zones.
San Diego American Indian Health Center offers Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Wellness services for the full health and well-being of our community.
Students in the MET academy will work with the San Diego American Indian Health Center to explore native plants and their uses in traditional stories and medicine.
