How can conserving the biodiversity of native plants to San Diego impact not only San Diego ecosystems but Hoover’s students’ well-being and the beautification of Hoover’s campus?
Purpose
Students in Hoover AHHC, MET, and SABE academies will collaborate to design and implement a native plant habitat on the Hoover campus, enhancing their understanding of native plant biodiversity and its impact on local ecosystems. This project will provide hands-on experiences in environmental science, allowing students to explore the intersection of ecological health, personal well-being, and urban sustainability. By participating in this initiative, students will contribute to reducing the "concrete jungle" and it's impact on the heating of our city and campus, by creating calming, microclimates that supports mental health and community beautification.
