Teacher residencies are preparation pathways anchored in a partnership where local education agencies and teacher preparation providers collaboratively design the teacher resident curriculum:
Ensuring aspiring teachers have affordable, high-quality opportunities and supports while they learn to teach; and
Supporting the instructional and staffing needs of local schools and districts.
The TEACH-LEAD San Diego Teacher Residency Program offers aspiring educators a pathway to becoming credentialed teachers through a year-long, hands-on teaching experience in San Diego Unified School District. Residents co-teach alongside experienced mentor teachers while developing their instructional skills, equity consciousness, and culturally sustaining teaching practices.Â
With financial support, personalized guidance, and opportunities to pursue various credential areas, the program is committed to growing a diverse workforce of educators who reflect and serve our community. Interested in learning more?Â
