Teacher residencies are preparation pathways anchored in a partnership where local education agencies and teacher preparation providers collaboratively design the teacher resident curriculum:

During the yearlong residency, residents engage in pre-service clinical practice by working alongside accomplished mentor teachers and experiencing the breadth of a teacher’s roles and responsibilities.

Who is eligible for the SDUSD Teacher Residency Program?

Candidates are eligible for the Residency if they have the following:

• Bachelor's Degree

  • Enrollment in identified credential programs

    • Single Subjects/STEM /Bilingual Authorization

    • Multiple Subjects/Bilingual Authorization

• Commitment to teach in San Diego Unified for four years
