2026 Teacher of the Year Process

 All Site Teachers of the Year will be honored at the 2026 Employee Recognition event on May 20, 2026. Any changes to this plan will be communicated here.  Mark your calendars now and continue to check back for updates!

Site Teachers of the Year, you are strongly encouraged to apply for District Teacher of the Year. Listed on this site are important dates relating to the Teacher of the Year process and answers to frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer to your question below, please contact Melissa Hudson mhamilton@sandi.net.

District applications are due by January 16 at 5 p.m. via the online form.

Important dates to consider 

The interview and observation process moves very quickly and allows little flexibility with respect to the time your interview and observation are scheduled. 

If you are selected for the interview process, interviews will be held in-person on March 3, 2026. 

Following the interview process, select candidates will be chosen for observation.
Observations will take place on March 11, 2026, and will also be held in-person. 

Should you be selected as the 2026 Teacher of the Year, you will be asked to participate in a video/photo shoot sometime in March.

Candidates selected for each step must be available on these dates.
Winners will be notified no later than March 20, 2026
