The needs assessment is the process which guides the community school strategy. The needs assessment identifies what needs and assets exist and which programs, services, or policies can be pursued in order to address needs and leverage assets for student learning and development.
Goal: To foster a deeper understanding of the community's needs, desires, and strengths by engaging in open dialogue with all educational partners, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.
Purpose: To pinpoint the most critical areas of growth and need within the community and empower working groups of engaged educational partners take direct action and direct resources towards addressing these priorities.
Process: Conduct a comprehensive outreach effort, comprising focus groups, surveys, and individual conversations with stakeholders from diverse segments, including students, parents, staff/teachers, and community partners. This inclusive approach will gather multiple perspectives and insights on the community's top concerns and potential actions that stakeholders are willing to take to drive positive change within the school community.
