Environmental Literacy Task Force

Est. 2022

The Environmental Literacy Taskforce is a coalition of highly driven student activists from every school in SDUSD. Designed to educate, aid, and elevate every student's environmental activism, ELT provides valuable knowledge and support to its members as they set, execute, and complete a tailored/customized set of goals for their specific school. As a collective objective, the task force aims to create and implement a climate curriculum in our district that will serve students across all grade levels. Through educational workshops, team meetings, and real-life activism, the environmental literacy task force will increase environmental action in each school of SDUSD and empower student activists to push for the change they want to see.

Pashe Crisp

Pashe is a sophomore attending Scripps Ranch High School. Pashe took their first large step in environmental activism with ELT and has since furthered their involvement in the climate movement by working in the communications and legislative sectors of SD350. She most passionately believes in the small choices that each person can make that, cumulatively, lead to large differences in the world and environmental justice space. Outside of environmental work, she is passionate about mental health awareness, increasing the availability of arts for students, and gun violence prevention and has taken steps of activism in each. As a co-chair, they cannot wait to aid students in their actions toward creating a more environmentally friendly school district.

Grayson Sciacqua

Grayson is currently a student at San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts where he is enrolled as a fine arts major. On campus, he serves as the President of his schools Philosophy and Debate club, President and Co-founder of Crochet club, and Vice President of his schools academic league team. Outside of school, he enjoys playing tennis, working on his play script, reading classical greco-roman literature, baking, and binge watching Sci-Fi. With a strong passion for human rights and the climate crisis he has been involved with local organizations such as SD350 and San Diego Youth Services, as well national organizations such as OneUpAction where he is a Youth Sollutionist in Government Fellow.

As Co-Chair for the Environmental Literacy Taskforce Grayson is committed to supporting every member on their journey to make our school district a leader in equitable environmental education.
