Magnifying Media Arts In the San Diego Unified School District is a federally funded Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) grant designed to promote and attract diversity while creating inquiry-based, civically engaged, and culturally responsive learning environments through the power of integrated media arts.

Magnifying Media Arts in the SDUSD Outcomes:
Integrate media arts seamlessly into all disciplines
Enable students to thoughtfully and critically consume and create media
Incorporate the newly revised California Arts Standards (CAS) and California SB 873
Design inquiry-based and project based learning (PBL) that enables students to take an active role in their own learning process.
Enhance partnerships between academics, civics, culture, the arts, and philanthropy.
Increase family and community engagement.
Create vertical Media Arts articulation in the VAPA pathway

MSAP stands for Magnet Schools Assistance Program, which lies within the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) in the U.S. Department of Education. The MSAP Department oversees the federal competitive MSAP grant.
