For the 2025-26 school year, the due date for student submissions for the State Seal of Civic Engagement will be as follows:
Fall Semester
For projects completed during the Fall Semester (Aug 11–Dec 19), 10th, 11th &12th grade students must submit their SSCE Applications by:
Friday, December 19, 2025
Spring Semester/End of Year
For projects completed yearlong or during the Spring Semester (Jan 5–May 28), SSCE Application deadlines are as follows by grade level:
12th Grade: Friday, April 24
10th & 11th Grade: Thursday, May 28*
*Seal will appear on next year's final transcript.
In September 2020, California introduced a way for high school Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors to earn a special recognition called the State Seal of Civic Engagement.
If you qualify, you’ll get a special seal on your diploma that shows your dedication and achievement on applications for college and career.
